DESCRIPTIVE TEXT vs EXPLANATION TEXT

Descriptive text merupakan salah satu text bahasa inggris yang berfungsi untuk memberikan informasi kepada sahabat KBI mengenai suatu hal baik orang, benda, atau apapun itu secara lebih kompleks dan detail.

Pada materi sebelumnya pun kita juga sudah pernah membahas mengenai descriptive text secara detail. Adapun untuk susunan dari descrriptive sendiri, yaitu Identification dan description.

Adapun yang dimakasud dengan explanation text dalam bahasa inggris yaitu An explanation text gives you information about a subject that you are interested in and would like to know more about. Dengan kata lain, explanation text merupakan sebuah text dalam bahasa inggris yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan suatu hal secara detail, namun hal tersebut lebih berhubungan kepada sebuah fenomena, baik fenomena alam maupun fenomena sosial.

So, yang menjadi perbedaan mendasar antara descriptive text dan explanation text yaitu jika descriptive text memberikan informasi kepada pembaca, maka explanation text memaparkan suatu hal dengan tujuan untuk membuat percaya si pembaca tersebut.
